The Town of North Beach is seeking design proposals from qualified consultants to address and mitigate increasingly worse storm water flooding through the design of green infrastructure practices, which may include but are not limited to step pool stormwater conveyance, permeable paving, conservation landscaping, cisterns and tree plantings. Climate resilient features and native plants will be included within the design to ensure that the project can address changing rainfall intensities and patterns due to climate change. The design will also maximize ecological benefits to the greatest extent practical while providing water quality benefits. This project represents one piece of a larger comprehensive effort to address climate change impacts throughout the town via green, gray, and hybrid practices. The sites, once implemented, will serve as Resiliency through Restoration demonstration projects to showcase the upland impacts of climate change and inform similar projects equitably distributed throughout the Town of North Beach.
