Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Provide a safe, reliable, cost-effective DRT service that accommodates both scheduled and spontaneous passenger boarding ; Provide an improved customer experience for current and future transit riders; C. Improve the productivity and cost-effectiveness of the Local Link 75; D. Test and evaluate the expected benefits of DRT and microtransit including, 1) on-demand and real-time trip requests and tracking, 2) demand-responsive connections to fixed-route transit, 3) demand-responsive connections within a specified zone and stops, 4) optimization of shared trips with dynamic routing, 5) managed and reduced passenger wait times, 6) managed and reduced in-vehicle time, 7) faster overall Complete Trip time, 8) improved connections between transit and origins/destinations, 9) meeting or exceeding Title VI and ADA requirements, and 10) minimal customer effort to plan, book, pay, and use transit; E. Identify and analyze travel patterns between fixed-route and on-demand service; F. Identify and evaluate a technically, organizationally, and financially feasible service mix. ; Integrate on-demand services and technology with MDOT MTA’s services and facilities for this pilot as well as potential future expansion of microtransit elsewhere in the core service area.
