Specifications include, but are not limited to: The proposed structure is a one-story building, to facilitate accessibility and ease of design, with a high-bay area directly above the main library space. The high-bay section will have an 82ft clear span with a galvanized acoustical metal roof deck supported by long span joists. The low roof area will be braced with braced frames, and the high bay area will be braced with moment frames. The ground floor will consist of a reinforced concrete slab with control joints provided at each column line. Foundations will be reinforced footings bearing on natural soils or engineered fill. Building column and piers will be supported on isolated reinforced concrete footings. Walls will be supported on continuous reinforced concrete footings. B. The building façade will be composed of masonry and metal panel veneer with a metal stud backup wall using cold-formed steel studs. The roof will be lateral bracing system will consist of a combination of steel braced frames and moment frames. C. The roof provides a prominent corner located facing the intersection of Leonard’s Grant Parkway and Hayden Farm Lane, oriented towards Leonardtown. This element is inclined with the columns in front, reminiscent of the many porches seen around Leonardtown. The roof will be an engineered fully adhered thermoplastic membrane roofing system applied over the structural roof deck.
