Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.5.2 Pavement Preparation for Modified Single Seal Surface Treatment 1) It will be the Contractor's responsibility to sweep and remove any soil, sod or debris from the area of the roadway surface to be treated. 2) After a road has been treated, the Contractor may be required to clean, sweep and remove loose stone along roadways and at intersections within seventy-two (72) hours after placement of treatment as directed by the Inspector. 3) The surface preparation and post-placement clean-up required by the Contractor will not be a pay item but considered incidental to the other items included in the proposal. 2.5.3 Weather Conditions This work shall not be scheduled if the surface temperature or the air temperature in the shade and away from artificial heat is below sixty (60) degrees F (Fahrenheit). Construction shall not be started during rain,the threat of rain, fog, or if the surface to be treated is wet. 2.5.4 Modified Single Seal Surface Treatment 1) Application of the modified Single Seal Surface Treatment shall consist of the following: a) The CRS-2L asphalt is applied to the proposed treated area at a rate of 0.17 to 0.20 gallons per square yard. b) The No.8 Coarse Aggregate is then applied to the proposed treated area at a rate of +/- fifteen (15) pounds per square yard (approximately one (1) stone thick). c) The first seal coat is then rolled with a 6-8 ton steel wheel roller.
