Specifications include, but are not limited to:UMB seeks a contractor who can provide state-of-the-art full service chemical waste disposal technologies for all generated chemical waste in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards. All services and materials related to the disposal of controlled hazardous substances, hazardous wastes, non-hazardous, and non-regulated wastes to include, but not limited to, the following: 1. ABILITY TO HANDLE/DISPOSE OF WASTES - The Contractor shall have ability to handle and dispose of all types of regulated hazardous wastes to include, but not be limited to, any EPA characteristic, F-listed, P-listed, and U-listed waste materials; State of Maryland K and M-listed wastes, universal wastes, hazardous materials not regulated under RCRA including DEA Controlled Substances, and non-hazardous materials (hereafter in this RFP known as “waste”). 2. ADVANCE WRITTEN NOTICE OF DISPOSAL SITE – The Contractor shall provide advanced written notification on each shipment as to where each/all wastes will ultimately be disposed. Only fully permitted, licensed and UMB approved Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF) will be utilized for disposal of wastes. Shipment of University waste outside of the United States of America is generally not allowed. Offerors must include detailed justification as to the benefits to the University from such a plan. Shipment and disposal of University waste will only occur with University approval and is specific to the disposal facility and waste stream. The University reserves the right to reject such a plan. All such plans must include certification that they meet the requirements of COMAR 26.13.03.07.A – INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS. Notwithstanding the above, should any services involve an international exposure of any kind, the Contractor, and any Subcontractors, are required to show compliance with all applicable international laws/treaties to which the United States of America, the State of Maryland, and UMB et al. must adhere to. 3. CLASSIFICATION, SEPARATION, AND PACKAGING OF WASTE – The Contractor shall provide labor and technical assistance for the proper classification, separation and packaging of waste for disposal.
