Specifications include, but are not limited to: Prince George’s County Government (County) is seeking an industry recognized partner to administer the County’s Flexible Spending (Health and Dependent Care FSA) and Commuter Benefit programs offered to approximately 6,600 County active and COBRA plan participants, as well as the County’s COBRA and Direct Billing Service programs, effective January 1, 2021 in accordance with IRS regulation Section 132 (f). The County provides flexible spending plans to its employees, in accordance with IRS regulation Section 132(f). The County will provide a flexible spending and commuter benefit program designed to allow employees to pay for healthcare, dependent care, mass transit, vanpool and parking benefits on a pre-tax basis in order to provide employees with an income tax and FICA savings. The County is considering offering a commuter benefit program so that employees who commute to and from work may receive a tax advantage for doing so. County employees will be able to voluntarily enroll in the commuter benefit program and flexible benefit programs. Election amounts over the IRS monthly maximum for commuter benefits may be permitted on a post-tax basis.
