Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of California, Los Angeles seeks materials testing and inspection consulting services for various non-specific projects in pre-design and design-phases through construction phases. These services would be anticipated to be for various scales of projects for new or existing buildings and locations on-campus or also potentially off-campus properties. A specific list of projects is not yet developed, nor is a schedule determined at the present time. The scope of the services may vary greatly in terms of size, cost, project type, and available information. Program and building types may also vary and include new construction, renovations, healthcare, housing, classrooms, laboratories, dining facilities and many others. The selected consultant will perform work under a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) negotiated with the University, with authorizations for specific assignments from Capital Programs, Facilities Management, Housing, and Business and Administrative Services executed as necessary over the term of the agreement, which may be up to three years with an option to extend for an additional three years. The scope of services may vary according to the specific requirements of each assigned task, with appropriate fees negotiated in accordance with UCLA policy at the time of each authorization. Aggregate fees are anticipated in the range of $100,000 to $3,000,000 over the term of the PSA. However, the selection of any consultant for this project does not guarantee that fees of that value will be expended. This selection may not cover services for all materials testing and inspection services performed by the University. There may be separate selections for large projects through project specific advertisements and selection processes. There may also be instances of small projects that will be performed by other firms than the selected consultant if they require special knowledge, skills, equipment, or availability of personnel. The PSA may have a duration of three years. Authorizations executed under the PSA will have varying durations, according to the needs of each study or project.
