The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services is one of the largest government Agencies in the State of Maryland and is responsible for the custody of incarcerated individuals throughout thirteen (13) correctional facilities. The Maryland Correctional Institution – Jessup (MCI-J) is located at 7803 House of Corrections Road, Jessup, MD 20794. MCI-J is a medium security state-operated correctional facility housing incarcerated individuals who require various accommodations, including communication access for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. Providing effective communication is essential to ensuring compliance with Federal regulations and maintaining equitable access to facility programs, services, and activities. The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to solicit bids to obtain services from a qualified Contractor to provide on-site sign language interpretation and transliterating services at MCI-J. The Contractor is responsible for providing qualified interpreters to facilitate communication between deaf or hard of hearing incarcerated individuals and facility staff, ensuring accessibility in accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
