The Baltimore City Department Of Transportation is seeking knowledge of state‐of‐the‐art central traffic signal management systems capable of monitoring and controlling traffic signals and ITS infrastructure such as Dynamic Message Sign (DMS) and Closed-Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV). The Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and ATMS provider should have the capability of integrating existing local intersection controllers or to upgrade/replace all the existing traffic signal controller equipment while leveraging existing communications and integration with controllers with Transit Signal Priority (TSP) capabilities as well as adaptive control and other related systems.
The purpose of the RFI is to meet the following objectives:
1. For ATMS software providers to understand the scope and magnitude of the upcoming ATMS and ATC solicitation
2. To assess the expected level of efforts to meet the functional needs
3. To fine‐tune the functional needs prior to the Request for Proposal (RFP)
4. To gather additional information to prepare the future RFP
