Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor will maintain the small Gazebo Park (see map) at the intersection of Shepherd/Fulton and Spring Streets and the small triangle at the corner of Bradley Lane and Connecticut Ave and four small gardens at the ends of 4 dead ends in the Village. This includes mulching, mowing the grass in the park (once a week during growing season), weed control and leaf removal (as needed and described) plus sodding most of the park twice a year: once in the fall and once in the Spring.; The Park has a sprinkler system. The Contractor will be required to maintain the system and winterize it every year and then re-activate it in the Spring. Any damage to that system must be reported immediately to the Village Manager. If the damage was caused by work done by the Contractor, all expenses connected with the repair should be borne by the Contractor. If repairs need to be made due to normal wear and tear and age, the cost of those repairs will be the direct cost of any replacement parts (receipts to be provided) and the hourly wage indicated in the bid. Any repairs must first be approved by the Village Manager. Most of the heads on the sprinklers were replaced in the Spring of 2010, and the control mechanism replaced in 2009. Some new heads have been installed since 2010 on an as-needed basis. We expect the Contractor to have an irrigation specialist on staff.; Regular communication with the Village Manager is required to be certain that everyone fully understands the tasks at hand or any problems the contractor might encounter that the Manager might help resolve. There must be an English speaking supervisor on hand at all times.; Twice a year, the four dead end “gardens” (see map) at Delaware, Florida, Fulton and Georgia Streets need to be weeded and mulched. Leaves will be removed regularly in the fall.; Once a year the streets (excluding Brookville Rd., Connecticut Ave. and Bradley Lane) will be swept after Thanksgiving into early December at a mutually agreed upon date. The contractor is expected to use a combination of battery powered blowers and a 4 cycle push blower for that once a year task.; Contractor shall be paid a flat fee per month for the months of July, August, September, October, November December, March, April, May, and June, payable the first week of the month following service. No fee shall be paid to Contractor for the months of January and February.; The Village is responsible for 10 small gardens in the median strip on Connecticut Avenue within our boundaries. The bid package should include pricing on an hourly basis (outside the monthly contract fee) for watering it and planting replacement materials to be acquired by the Village. Weeding and mulching is included in the base contract price. The Village will be responsible for getting the appropriate permits from the State Highway Administration (SHA), providing plant materials and specifically asking for some or all of the above services.
