The Department of Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences at the United States Naval Academy (USNA) requires quantity (1) YSI Xylem (YSI), Inc. EXO2 multiparameter water quality sonde with a handheld logger, water-quality sensors, and a 15 m deployment cable. The EXO2 multiparameter water quality sonde will be configured for use in shallow water (<100 m) and will be deployable from a YSI Pontoon Profiler, pier side, or from a small boat to collect water quality profiles of the water column. Data collected with the EXO2 multiparameter water quality sonde will be used in support of Department of Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences Severn River Watershed Observatory (SRWO) and major courses, faculty-led, Midshipmen hands-on, project-based learning and Capstone and Independent research in the field of coastal and estuarine oceanography. The YSI EXO2 multi-parameter water quality sonde must be equipped with a full, sensor payload to measure conductivity, temperature, pressure (up to 100 meters), pH/ORP, turbidity, dissolved oxygen (DO), total algae, chlorophyll fluorescence (Chl-a), and fluorescent dissolved organic matter (IDOM) over profile depths from 0 to 100 m. The YSI EXO2 multi-parameter water quality sonde will be able to be powered by external+12VDC power. It will be rated to 100 m with a depth sensor and a central wiper to limit biofouling. The supplied YSI EXO2 multi-parameter water quality sonde will be compatible with an existing YSI Pontoon Profiler and able to accept existing wet pluggable, field replaceable USNA YSI sensors for temperature, conductivity, Salinity, Specific Conductance pH, pH/ORP, Total Dissolved Solids, Total Suspended Solids, optical dissolved oxygen, turbidity, chlorophyll, Blue Green Algae (PC & PE), and Fluorescent Dissolved Organic Matter (fDOM). In addition, the Sonde package should include a GPS-enabled handheld data logger, a 15-meter data, cable and an EXO Sonde signal to SDI-12 or RS-232 signal adapter.
