Specifications include, but are not limited to: Winter Abrasives • General These specifications describe the materials to be used on the roadways maintained by the Garrett County Public Works - Roads Division during its winter operations. Only materials not containing metal; glass; substances that may be harmful to automotive equipment and vehicles; or foreign debris such as but not limited to dirt, dust, shale or slate will be considered. • Type 1 Material – Item A - #10 Stone Dust (Anti-Skid 3/8 Screen 100% passing): Abrasive Gradation: The material shall be of granular nature and the successful bidder will be required to mix the material with stone dust #10 (3/8” maximum) to meet the following gradation schedule with no dust: (Bid price per ton shall include the proposed material plus the #10 stone dust): Screen Max % Passing 1 ¼” - ¾” - ½” 100% ¼” 60% #4 70% – 100% #8 10% – 40% #16 0% – 10% #50 0% – 5% #100 0% – 2% The Roads Division reserves the right to change the mix at its discretion or deems necessary without affecting the bid price per ton.
