1. A university representative shall be notified a minimum of 24 hours in advance of all operations, and when operators are on site. Affidavits over 200K; V.2 Revised 2022 5 2. All work will be done in accordance with the current ANSI A300, ANSI Z133, Maryland Tree Expert Law, and Maryland Roadside Tree Law (consider all campus trees as roadside trees). 3. Tree removals shall follow the University of Maryland-College Park’s Standard Operating Procedure (provided). 4. The company shall carry a current Maryland Tree Expert License and/or International Society of Arboriculture License and must be registered with the Maryland DNR as a Licensed Tree Expert. Contractor shall ensure that ISA Certification is maintained during contract period. 5. The company shall carry a Maryland Certified Pesticide License*. All applications are to be made with a licensed Maryland Certified Pesticide applicator between the hours of 10:00pm to 8:00am, unless specified by an assigned representative. 6. No work will be done within 100’ of dormitories before 8:00am. 7. All other tree work shall begin at 7:00am, unless specified by an assigned representative. 8. The contractor is to provide 24-hour response for emergency situations. 9. The company shall have a qualified English-speaking supervisor on site at all times. 10. All employees will be in company uniform. 11. All company trucks shall have the company logo. 12. All work shall be performed so as to not jeopardize the safety of the campus community. In most cases this will require a minimum of barricades around the work area and may require work on weekends and holidays. Most work will be scheduled during extended breaks at the University. 13. Any sidewalk or roadway closure will comply with University signage protocols. 14. All wood and brush shall be removed and the site swept or blown clean at the end of the workday. Disposal of plant material is the responsibility of the service provider unless material requested by the University of Maryland. 15. Stumps and large roots (4”) within 5’ shall be ground 10”-12” below grade. All grindings shall be raked back into the hole. Contacting MISS Utility will be the responsibility of the contractor.
