Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Office of Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) within the Maryland Department of Health (the Department, MDH) is soliciting bids for a consultant to assist the DDA Director for Programs with various activities related to the development and conducting of Support Broker Training as well as leading the Quality Enhancement Process for Support Brokerage in Maryland. Develop a statewide curriculum for the initial Support Broker training that is competency based to contain a pre-test, a post-test, and certification for the student to demonstrate an understanding of Self-Direction Support Services and its relationship to the Maryland DDA system of services. As well as have the ability to accurately explain the participation requirements in self-direction support services. Have a clear understanding of Maryland Incident reporting requirements. The curriculum must have the following: 1. Roles of the Fiscal Management Services, Coordinator of Community Services, and Support Broker. 2. Person-Centered Thinking and Planning components in the development of the curriculum. 3. Understand roles and responsibilities of Maryland’s incident reporting requirements. 4. Employer Authority and Budget Authority responsibilities. 5. The role of the Support Broker as a coach and mentor related to problem-solving, decision-making, and achieving desired outcomes of the Self Direction participant. How to understand and access additional outside resources to meet the employer authority and budget authority on behalf of the participant in Self Direction. 7. How to support the Self Direction Participant through coaching and mentoring in creating their budget, hire staff and maintain staff. 8. How to ensure the appropriate team members are aware of the Health and Safety issues the participant needs support and assistance while in Self Direction. 9. How to support the participant during their Person-Centered Planning meetings. Develop a statewide recertification training curriculum that is competency based to contain a pre-test, a post-test, and certification for the student that is able to demonstrate the following: 1. Roles of the Fiscal Management Services, Coordinator of Community Services, and Support Broker. 2. Person-Centered Thinking and Planning components in the development of the curriculum. 3. Understand roles and responsibilities of Maryland’s incident reporting requirements. 4. Employer Authority and Budget Authority responsibilities. 5.
