Specifications include, but are not limited to: Summer School Programming The following is a general outline of the responsibilities of the vendor's staff for each site: A. Site Coordinator a. Creating, developing and/or reigning program curriculum (in collaboration with WCPS (Washington County Public Schools)) for students. b. Recruit, supervise, and manage support staff. c. Ensuring staffing is in place for the program each day (student-to-teacher ratio will vary from school to school) d. Facilitate group lessons and activities as needed. e. Coordinate off-site field trips at the request of WCPS. B. Staff Assistants Responsibilities: a. Engage students and participate in daily summer program activities. b. Facilitate group lessons and activities. c. Create a safe environment for students during the summer program. d. Bus Assistant Responsibilities (one per bus, staff assistants may service the role of bus assistant): i. Support in the communication of student bus stops with students and families. ii. Ensure students depart the bus at the appropriate stop. iii. Provide behavioral support to students on the bus. iv. Ability to work beyond the program end time. C. Field Trip(s): a. All field trips will be at the request of the program school. b. Field trip(s) will be paid for by WCPS (including lunch and snacks). c. All field trips will be within a distance so students are able to safely return to the school by 3:45 pm in order to catch the bus home. Field trips will be in collaboration with the school.; A. Bester Elementary School The program should include the following details: 1. Program 1 Key Priorities for Program 1: i. Assist students with healthy living- providing students with the knowledge, skills, and encouragement to develop and sustain a healthy lifestyle. ii. Students develop skills that promote participation in their community in a constructive manner. iii. Program activities and experiences that include outdoor experiences, group activities, athletics, and/or Fine and/or Dramatic arts. Activities concentrated on social and emotional support, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and goal setting. a. Program to run five (4) days a week from 11:45 am – 4:45 pm Monday through Thursday. Will run from July 1, 2024, to July 18, 2024. i. The program will be closed on July 4, 2024. ii. Time includes a 15-minute set-up and transition time and a 45-minute dismissal time. iii. The number of weeks and/or the number of hours of this summer program may change based on budget constraints. b. Capacity to service up to 120 students. a. Ensuring staffing is in place for the program each day for a student to teacher ratio of 15:1. c. Ability to coordinate enrichment activities off-site each program week, at the request of the school.
