Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.1 Develop, coordinate, and complete a comprehensive Statewide Public School Health Workforce Assessment in Maryland that includes the following: 4.1.1 Descripon of the exisng school health program organizaon and structure in each of Maryland’s 24 local public school systems. This should include at least the following for each school health program: 4.1.1.1 Enty responsible for funding and staffing the school health program; 4.1.1.2 Staffing model (e.g. cluster model, RN in every school, etc) including level of nurse administraon; 4.1.1.3 Number and type of posions allocated for the school health program; 4.1.2 Comparison of available data on staffing and workload (ex. number of visits to the school health suite, number of medicaon administraons, number of treatments administered, etc.) for school health services programs across the 24 local public school systems; 4.1.3 Synthesis of literature and professional recommendaons regarding standards for school health program staffing; 4.2 Ulize new and exisng quantave and qualitave data sources to conduct the School Health Workforce Assessment, including development of user friendly data collecon instruments. Please note that MSDE fields an annual School Health Services Survey that is completed by the lead School Health Services Coordinator in each of the 24 local school systems and collects some of the data required in 4.1.1 and 4.1.2. The lead School Health Services Coordinators will be the primary points of contact for local school system data collecon.; 4.3 Convene and lead meengs of a Steering Commiee to inform the development and review findings of the Public School Health Workforce Assessment that includes stakeholders with diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds represenng, at a minimum: MDH, MSDE, public school health services coordinators, public school nurses, public school administrators, local health departments, parents/guardians of children with chronic condions with IEPs or IHPs that address health care needs in school, pediatric health care providers.; 4.4 Conduct regular meengs with the MDH staff/contract monitor to discuss progress and findings of the Public School Health Workforce Assessment. The final frequency will be determined together with the MDH staff and applicant, but the meengs will be at least monthly.; 4.5 Submit a wrien final report featuring an execuve summary that addresses all of the findings and recommendaons from the statewide Public School Health Workforce Assessment as outlined in the Scope of Work.
