The Frederick County Infants and Toddlers Program utilizes foreign language interpreting services for eligible children and families. Interpretation is contracted for any early intervention service necessary to support children birth through four years of age with special needs and their caregivers. Historically, Spanish is the most commonly interpreted language through the Frederick County Infants and Toddlers Program (FCITP). Terminology as it relates to therapy services, infant and toddler development, education, and medical conditions is best interpreted by professionals who have knowledge of these complex early intervention topics, language, and practices. Services are provided in naturally occurring routines in homes, childcare settings, at Frederick County Developmental Center (FCDC), and other community settings. CONTRACTOR’S QUALIFICATIONS: Contractors and each interpreter provided to service this contract, must be engaged in providing Spanish language interpretation services for an early intervention service supporting children (from birth through four years of age with special needs) and their caregivers and shall have been actively engaged in this field for a minimum of two years. The proposing firm must meet these years of experience, at a minimum, in order to be considered for award.
