The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County, also referred to as Anne Arundel County Public Schools or AACPS, is soliciting proposals for the 2026/2027 school year for a comprehensive curriculum and digital program for the self-contained special education programs that instruct students accessing the Alternate Academic Achievement Standards and will ultimately take the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) alternate state assessment. AACPS requests a program that not only aligns with the Alternate Academic Achievement Standards for all core content areas but also incorporates social, emotional, and behavioral skill development, has components to support transition skills, life skill development, communication, and sensory integration. The curriculum should have the ability to be taught in isolation in a self-contained program or as an accompanying resource for students accessing instruction in a general education setting alongside a tier 1 curriculum. The curriculum must incorporate grade-band appropriate content for students with significant cognitive disabilities. It also needs to provide materials in multiple formats (print, digital, audio) to meet diverse sensory and motor needs. It must include features such as large print, simplified language, visual supports, and compatibility with assistive technology.
