This is a Sources Sought Notice only. This is not a request for proposal, but a survey to locate potential sources. This Sources Sought does not constitute an Invitation for Bids, Request for Proposals, or a Request for Quotations, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue an order or otherwise pay for the information solicited, nor is it a guarantee of a forthcoming solicitation or contract. It is for market research purposes only. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation.
The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities, and qualifications of various members of industry, to include the Small Business Community: Small Business, Section 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-Zone), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB). The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsible contractors. Small business, Section 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, & EDWOSB businesses are highly encouraged to participate.

A. Objective:
To find sources that are qualified to meet the supplies/services as listed in section 11B. Note that the specific requirements in section C are subject to change prior to the release of any solicitation.
B. The Government requires one (1) automatic precision sectioning saw in accordance with the below minimum specifications:
- The contractor shall provide one (1) automatic precision sectioning saw with the following specifications and characteristics:
- Cut-off wheel diameter: covers range from 3 to 8 inches.
- Cut-off wheel rotation speed: covers range from 1000 Revolution Per Minutes (RPM) to 5,000 RPM
- Feed Rate Range: cover range from 0.5 inch per minute to 1 inches per minute.
- Line laser marking
- Cut Chamber Size: Minimum 8 inch x 8 inch.
- Programmable for auto positing and cutting
- Accessories:
The contractor shall provide compatible accessories included with the equipment:
One (1) unit of each of the followings:
- One (1) T-slot bed
- One (1) Small speed vise
- One (1) Vee blocks clamp
- One (1) Sliding Vise
- One (1) Rapid Rail Vise Holder
- One (1) Large, Single Saddle Chuck
- One (1) Double Saddle Chuck
- One (1) Quick Clamp Vise
- One (1) Fastener Chuck
- One (1) Large Bone Chuck
- One (1) Irregular Specimen Chuck
- One (1) Dressing Wheel for blades
One (1) unit of each of the following 8-inch blades:
- One (1) Blade for hard steel alloy cutting
- One (1) Blade for hard ceramic cutting
- One (1) Blade for soft metal cutting
- Delivery to DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory 6375 Johnson Road, Building 321, Aberdeen Proving Ground 21005 no later than six (6) months After Receipt of Order (ARO).
- Training
- The Contractor will deliver a minimum of two (2) hours of hands-on, in-person training covering the core functions of the provided equipment. Training for staff will be included on daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance procedures to ensure proper upkeep and operation of the equipment. A dedicated application training course is done to make sure the correct method is used. The Contractor will cover all necessary travel and accommodation expenses for the trainer(s) associated with delivering the training onsite. All training personnel must be authorized and capable of obtaining a visitor security badge, as required by the training facility’s protocols.

C. Responses:
All interested parties should notify this office in writing, mail, fax, or e-mail within the posted date. Responses shall include:
- To what extent each of the specifications can be met.
- Include your type of business (i.e. commercial, academia), whether your organization is classified as a large or small business based on the 1,000 employee standard that accompanies NAICS code 334516. If a small business, you must also list any small disadvantaged status you hold [HUBZone, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women Owned Small Business (WOSB), Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), etc.].
- Past experience/ performance through the description of completed projects.
