Specifications include, but are not limited to: Scope of Work: The Potomac Center is requesting an Invitation For Bid (IFB) for snow removal services. Contractor shall be responsible for providing: · All equipment, pot ash for walks, and rock salt for roads and parking lots, labor, insurance, gas, oil, maintenance for equipment used, cell phones and incidentals used for this service. · The Contractor shall be available on a seven (7) day a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day. · The Contractor shall have in its possession adequate equipment and employees to clear parking lots, roads and walkways within a timely manner which we feel would require 3 – 5 men with equipment depending on size of snow storm. · The Contractor shall start snow removal operations at the Center within one (1) hour after having been notified and shall stay on grounds if snow is falling at a rate of two (2) inches per hour, or if less than two (2) inches per hour shall return every two (2) hours thereafter to keep roads, parking lots and walkways clear until snow has stopped or Contractor is advised to stop by Contract Monitor. · The Contractor shall not subcontract all or any part of the agreement without the prior written approval of the Contract Monitor. · The Contractor shall be responsible to completely clearing roads, parking areas, walkways, fire hydrants and curb drains to keep them clear until snow has stopped or Contractor is advised to stop by Contract Monitor along with spreading pot ash on walks and rock salt on parking lots and roads to prevent falls and ice. · The spreading of the pot as and rock salt shall be done in a way that adequately covers the areas it is used on. · If hauling of snow is deemed necessary, it shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to locate a dumping site and secure permission to use this site if there is not a location on grounds that snow can be piled without obstructing traffic or creating a hazard to staff and clients or blocking dumpsters. · All services to be provided on the grounds of the Potomac Center at 1380 Marshall Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740, the Potomac Center sits on 23 acres with multiple parking lots and walkways (map is attached). · The Contractor shall receive payment for those hours their equipment is in actual snow removal operation at the Center. · The Contractor shall prepare his/her bid by quoting a hourly rates which will be charged regardless of snow accumulations, equipment used or amount of pot ash and rock salt needed. · Contractor shall be responsible for repairs to any and all curbs, sidewalks, buildings, vehicles and landscape damaged by his/her employees or equipment while on grounds. · Contractor shall only use pot ash on walkways and rock salt for roads and parking lots.
