Specifications include, but are not limited to: The HSCRC is seeking a contractor to convene six half-day (3-4 hour) sessions with Maryland hospitals in the state to train hospital access, clinical, and other relevant staff responsible for primary data collection from patients; the training content will specifically address approaches to eliciting and documenting information from patients receiving health care services on their Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) using best practices in a culturally competent manner. Training on collection of these data must be consistent with the federal government’s recommendations and other best practices for SOGI data collection, as well as HSCRC hospital inpatient and outpatient dataset reporting requirements on collection and reporting of these data elements. Proposals must provide reference to, and demonstrate knowledge of, relevant federal recommendations and other best practices, and of HSCRC hospital inpatient and outpatient data reporting requirements. The vendor shall also include patient-centered care concepts in carrying out these training sessions. Following the training sessions, the vendor shall submit a report to HSCRC summarizing the sessions, including hospitals and staff that participated, numbers and types of staff participants in the sessions, and potential issues raised for follow-up and recommendations for next steps, if any, to HSCRC. Tasks - The Vendor shall perform the following tasks: ● Finalize training content consistent with information in the proposal and collaboration with HSCRC project staff within two weeks of the award of the contract. ● Convene six half-day (3-4 hours) training sessions within a 60-day timeframe on SOGI data collection (virtual and synchronous) for hospital staff responsible for primary data collection. ● Finalize and make available asynchronous training sessions to hospitals to provide for their staff who cannot attend the synchronous sessions. Potential vendors should explain in their proposal how the asynchronous sessions will be provided (i.e., via website, email, webinar, etc.), and how HSCRC staff can track and update hospital and staff information on training accessed on an ongoing basis.
