Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University Health Center provides a wide range of health services including routine health maintenance checkups, gynecologic examinations, and management of both acute and common chronic medical conditions. Laboratory procedures are performed both in the Health Center and at commercial and government laboratories. Plain diagnostic x-rays are done at the center. Other services include physical therapy, acupuncture, therapeutic massage, pharmacy, and a travel and allergy clinic. Students have access to mental health and substance abuse services within the Health Center as well as separate free counseling services at another location on the campus. There is a $50.00 visit fee charged to the insurance firms for most primary care visits and a $15 fee for behavioral health visits with additional charges for specialists, x-rays, laboratory tests, physical therapy, acupuncture, massage and pharmaceuticals. There are also charges to the insurance copay for colposcopy, well physicals, orthopedic supplies, electrocardiograms, pulmonary function tests, nebulizer treatments, immunizations, injections, and IV fluids. Health education services are provided at no cost. All 37,000 plus students are eligible to use the campus health services. There are over 48,000 clinical visits per year.
