TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: 17.1 The services will commence with the first snow and / or ice event and continue until the last snow and / or ice event, but generally November 1, 2013 through April 30, 2013. 17.2 The services to be supplied by the Contractor will include the removal of ice and snow from any or all sidewalk areas, handicap ramps, parking lots and all entrances and exits on the premises of the following areas (see Attachment 10 for address and special instructions): 1. Middletown Park Sidewalks 2. Middletown Library 3. Brunswick Library 4. Point of Rocks Library 5. Point of Rocks Commuter Trail 6. Ballenger Creek Sidewalks 7. New Design and Corporate Drive Sidewalks 8. Thurmont Library 9. Walkersville Library Contractor is not required to bid on all locations. 17.3 All building entranceways, exits, and sidewalks shall be clear of accumulation of snow, ice or slush. Calcium chloride or a comparable product will be used to prevent icing on sidewalks. No sodium chloride or rock salt may be used on sidewalks or decking. All chemicals shall be spread using a broadcast style spreader to prevent clumping. The Contractor shall take care to prevent over-accumulation of chemical product and will sweep away excess chemicals from doorways to maintain safe conditions
