A. Ice Rink and Associated Materials The Contractor shall provide all items for an operational ice rink, including but not limited to: 1) Ice rink for a seasonal ice rink measuring 50 feet wide by 130 feet long. 2) Chillers and Mechanical Tools: The chiller proposal shall be Glycol-based, air- or water-cooled; must include energy-efficient compressor(s) and programmable thermostat controls. The chiller refrigeration capacity shall be sized appropriately for specified rink dimensions and ambient operating temperatures. The proposed refrigerant must be compliant with EPA and local environmental standards. 3) Resurfacing Equipment to maintain the rink. 4) Electrical Requirements: The ice rink must include weather-resistant power distribution panels and cable covers. 5) Drainage: The Contractor shall provide a drainage plan or system to manage meltwater upon shutdown. 6) Dasher boards: The dasher boards must be modular, durable, and capable of withstanding continuous use in a public skating environment. The system should prioritize safety, ease of installation/removal, ease of entry and exit, and compatibility with recreational skating applications. 7) Sheet flooring. The Contractor shall supply modular sheet flooring system designed as the base layer beneath a real ice surface in a temporary ice skating rink. The flooring must support the weight of the ice slab, dasher boards, skaters, and equipment (e.g., ice resurfacing machines), while also ensuring energy efficiency, levelness, and long-term durability. The surface must be non- slip when wet or exposed to condensation, and be resistant to mold, mildew and warping. Flooring must be compatible with chiller piping systems for ice refrigeration. The edges must be flush and locked to prevent tripping hazards. The sheet flooring must allow for easy disassembly and reuse. B. Training After delivery of the items, the Contractor shall provide training, exhibiting and outlining the following to Calvert County Government staff: 1) Operation. 2) Setup and dismantling. 3) Maintenance of the rink. 4) Manuals and guides for preventative maintenance and repairs. The date, time and location of training shall be communicated to the Contractor by Calvert County Government. Please note this training is not installation of the rink.
