2. PROJECT OVERVIEW: The overall scope of work involves the design, fabrication, and construction of a fully enclosed vestibule at the north entrance of the Committal Shelter. The new structure will tie into the existing wing wall and serve as an airlock entry, providing enhanced energy efficiency and improved safety for pedestrian traffic, in compliance with current building codes. A. Architectural Integration: The vestibule shall be designed to aesthetically and functionally integrate with the existing building. All finishes, materials, and color schemes will complement the current architectural elements, ensuring visual consistency and structural harmony. B. Vestibule Framing: • Thermally broken aluminum framing. • Manufacturer’s standard Kynar paint finish. • Two elevations to be enclosed. C. Glazing: • 1” clear, low-E, tempered insulated glass. D. Dimensions (Approximate): • End Elevation: 48” long, trapezoidal shape (101” high to 88” low). • Front Elevation: 141” wide x 88” high. E. Doors Requirements/: Hardware Specifications: • Pair of 6’0” x 7’0” storefront doors. • Narrow stile design with 10” bottom rails. • Exterior entry doors to match existing systems, including lock-open capabilities. • Surface-mounted overhead closers (LCN or equivalent). • Manufacturer’s standard butt hinges. • Push/pull handles. • Commercial grade locking hardware. • Thresholds and full perimeter weatherstripping. F. Finishes: • Paint schemes and finishes will be selected to complement the existing finish of the committal shelter (Sherwin Williams “Barnstable Brown”) as approved by the Cemetery Superintendent. G. Roof & Drainage: • Roof or gutter system must ensure that no water is discharged directly over the entry. • Roofing materials and colors to match existing shingle scheme.
