Each badge must be capable of detecting and reporting a minimum dose of 1 mRem and be suitable for monitoring gamma and neutron radiation exposure. These dosimeters will be assigned to Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) personnel who operate or work in proximity to SHA’s portable nuclear moisture/density gauges. All badges must comply with the requirements of the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), specifically those outlined in COMAR 26.12.01.01. b. All radiation dosimeter badges must be delivered to the Office of Materials Technology at least five days prior to the start of the monitoring period. c. Must generate a quarterly invoice report detailing all dosimeter badge transactions for the reporting period. The report shall include a comprehensive listing of the total number of badges activated and deactivated, along with the type of service performed for each (e.g., issuance, return, replacement). This report must be submitted to the current SHA Radiation Safety Officer, Mr. Vladimir Tanchev. d. Must generate a radiation exposure report for all dosimeter badges, including individual exposure readings and results. The report shall be submitted to SHA within three weeks of processing all returned badges from the applicable wear period. e. Badges shall not be considered unreturned or subject to charges until the second consecutive quarterly cycle in which the badge remains unreturned.
