1) Major milling work shall be done with a self-propelled grinding machine capable of removing approximately 215 feet long of porous concrete and 23’feet wide at a depth ranging from 6 to 8 inches around the roundabout. 2) All millings must be removed immediately from the pavement and must not be allowed to remain on the space. Care must be taken to avoid damaging any manhole lids, water or gas valves, curbs, and gutter system. As such, some chipping by use of a jackhammer may be required. The areas milled will not be the exact same as the areas overlaid. Contractors shall remove vegetation from any cracks and along the edge of the surface. The contractor shall proof roll existing stone subgrade and prepare as required to accept bituminous fine coat. Provide and place all necessary forms for concrete pouring. Provide and place 6” of Porous Concrete. NOTE: All measurements are approximate. Contractors shall verify measurements and calculate quantities. 3) The contractor shall seal cracks with a product suitable for crack size and compatible with sealcoating products. The cleaned site shall be primed with a tack coat of SS-1 at an approximate rate of .1 gallon per square yard immediately prior to the placing of the final asphalt surface. The primer shall cover all surfaces, in a method to cause the least amount of tracking and inconvenience to the public accessing the sites. The costs of the primer shall be included in the unit price for asphalt.
