WSSC Water aims to replace aging submersible mixers installed in 2001 in the Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) process trains at the Piscataway Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF). The new installation will incorporate energy-efficient variable speed mixers with integrated VFDs, SCADA compatibility, and updated infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency, safety, maintenance, and accessibility. The project involves replacing the submersible mixers, including the selective demolition of the existing mixers, mixer lifts, and supports. The project includes installing (38) new mixers in Train 1 and (30) new mixers in Train 2. The mixer will be replaced on the existing masts, along with new davit lifts, and miscellaneous concrete structural repairs. The project also includes new power wiring, instrumentation, and controls.
