a. Contractor shall bring all equipment and tools necessary to mill, excavate and patch, including accessories like but not limited to shovels and brooms. b. Contractor shall provide and install HMA to meet the grade with the existing roadway. c. Contractor shall provide a minimum of one foreman, and crew size adequate to provide milling, excavating, paving, and cleanup. d. Millings are property of the contractor, who shall remove and then recycle, resell, or dispose of the excavated material. Consider use of the Talbot County Repurposing Center, which accepts unwanted asphalt from contractors and municipalities. The Center repurposes this unwanted material into usable products for sale back to the contractors and governments. https://talbotcountymd.gov/repurposing-center e. On scheduled workdays, the contractor shall meet in the morning and afternoon at the SHA Facility both at the starting point and finishing point of each day to check in with management. The contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, tools, transportation, equipment, and materials necessary to perform all work in accordance with this specification and scope of work in the manner called for, and to the satisfaction of the State Highway Administration. Vendor to use best practices established in the service industry to perform this work. f. Contractor Shall begin work 10 working days of MDOT SHA providing notice. Work cannot be completed in temperatures or conditions that are below or outside of MDOT SHA’s specifications as outlined in the MDOT SHA’s Standard Specifications for Construction and materials June 2022 g. Workers will wear ANSI Class 3 outerwear and be given adequate drinking water. h. All patches must have the same grade as existing roadway. Also providing smooth transition and proper drainage all milled area and edges excavated must be tacked before installation and upon completion all joints are to be crack sealed. i. Vendor’s vehicle shall be licensed, registered, and insured. j. All work vehicles and equipment must have the amber 360-degree rotating safety light. k. Vendors shall be responsible for the security of all their tools, equipment, and materials. l. The vendor will work between the hours of 7am and 2pm. This SHA facility is open from 6:30AM to 3PM. m.
