A. Kentlands Property Areas (Sites 1 – 4) All Kentlands property areas are high traffic areas utilized heavily by the public. Events from farmers markets at the Market Street site to weddings and events at the Kentlands Mansion site make these areas a high priority for maintenance to be kept at the highest standards. B. Constitution Gardens Park (Site 5) i. Constitution Gardens Park is located at 112 Brookes Avenue, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877. The park has many native plants, which are showcased throughout the entire park, from dedicated pollinator gardens to hilltop oaks. The park includes a fountain, gazebo, an herb garden spiral walk, and an interactive play area. ii. The park is used by many nearby residents. Many families with children and pets frequently visit and utilize all the amenities. The goal is to keep the park maintained to the highest quality standards that will provide an aesthetically pleasing and safe environment. iii. All areas of necessary maintenance will be outlined. The as-built planting information is attached for reference. All plant material shall be treated according to the horticultural specifications. The Contractor shall be required to know and understand the plant material specifications and the proper care and maintenance of all plant material, trees, and shrubs. iv. Constraints/Challenges for Constitution Gardens Park a) Park visitors with children and pets utilize the park at a high frequency. Safety is extremely important. b) Maintenance of flower beds and bio-retention areas can be challenging as the established plant material becomes overwhelmed with invasive weeds early, and throughout the season. Hand removal of weeds may become necessary (time constraint). c) The rose bushes in the rose garden at Constitution Gardens are managed separately and are not covered in this scope of work. *However, all beds, plant material, weeds around the rose bushes, etc. that surround the rose garden ARE covered in this scope of work.*
