1. Removal of Existing Decking: o Contractors shall only remove decking that can be replaced by the end of the workday to ensure no safety hazards remain. All existing decking materials shall be safely removed and disposed of in compliance with local regulations. 2. Inspection of Pier Substructure: o Assess the condition of the pier’s substructure for any damage or repairs needed before new decking installation. o Contractors are responsible for removal and replacement of existing benches located on the pier. o Report any structural issues to the Town’s project manager. 3. Installation of New Decking: o Procure and install new decking materials as specified in Section 3 of Specifications. o Ensure proper alignment, fastening, and spacing to meet safety and aesthetic requirements. 4. Cleanup and Restoration: o Remove and dispose of all construction debris. o Restore the surrounding area to its original condition upon project completion.
