A. The selected Offeror shall: I. Supply one (1) Maintenance Temp to provide skilled trade assistance to the Maintenance Department at the Potomac Center and SETT facilities in Hagerstown, Maryland. a. The Maintenance Temp shall be designated to the Contract and shall not change without prior consent of the Center’s Contract Monitor. b. Any replacement Maintenance Temp shall meet all minimum qualifications and mandatory requirements outlined in Section V of the IFB. B. The assigned Maintenance Temp shall: I. Be comfortable working around adults with intellectual disabilities who are court ordered to the facilities and may experience behavioral challenges. a. For the purposes of this solicitation, “intellectual disabilities” is as defined by Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR), Section 10.67.01.01B (89). II. Provide services on-site, forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday. Shift begins at 7:00am, ends at 3:30pm, and includes a thirty minute unpaid lunch break each day. III. Report to the Contract Monitor/Maintenance Supervisor, or their designee, each day. IV. Arrive at the facility dressed appropriately and ready to work on the designated dates and times. a. Maintenance Temp shall wear and display an identification badge at all times while working on site. Photo identification to be provided by the Potomac Center during onboarding. V. Perform specialized construction tasks as a drywall installer, finisher, and painter. Examples of duties include, but are not limited to: a. Displaying aptitude using appropriate hand tools required for each job (drills, saws, squares, level, razor knife, drywall knives/trowels, mud pans, brushes, rollers, caulking guns etc.) 1. The Potomac Center will provide all tools, equipment, materials, and supplies required to complete duties. i. All tools and equipment shall be operated safely and per manufacturer specifications. ii. Maintenance Temp shall maintain a safe work environment per Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. iii. All tools and equipment are to be secured per maintenance staff direction when not in use. iv. At no time should any tools/equipment be handled by, or given to, any Potomac Center/SETT individual. b. Measuring, cutting and fitting drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings. c. Positioning and securing drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs. d. Cutting and installing metal corner beads to protect exterior corners. e. Joining drywall panels using tape and compound. f. Filling joints, holes and cracks with compound using a trowel and broad knife. g. Smoothing out excess compound and sanding over dry compound. h. Repairing cracks and any other damage to the drywall panels. i. Concealing any imperfections or exposed irregularities in the drywall surface. j. Layering plaster or spackle with trowels to create a flat surface. k. Sanding down rough areas on the wall to create a smooth surface. l. Making on-site preparations such as covering flooring, covering fixtures, removing electrical face plates, taping window and door jambs, drop ceiling track, tile or vinyl cove base, etc. m. Preparing walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc. n. Mixing paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture. o. Painting surfaces according to instructions with various tools. p. Managing and maintaining all the required equipment for the job. q. Keeping Contract Monitor abreast of progress and reporting any job-related issues. r. Ensuring that all equipment and materials are used safely and effectively. s. Keeping a neat clean work area.
