2.2.1 The MDTA is an independent agency that owns and operates multiple facilities across the State of Maryland, including but not limited to office buildings, maintenance buildings, storage buildings, toll facilities, bridges, tunnels and turnpike roads. 2.2.2 The MDTA is requesting Bids for the purpose of securing a Contract for biological/medical/infectious hazards, hazardous materials, hazardous wastes (including universal wastes), unidentified wastes, regulated wastes, and non-regulated/industrial waste decontamination, abatement and/or disposal. Under this Contract, MDTA wishes to ensure that a vendor on Contract is capable of carrying out routine and emergency response cleanups and other activities associated with response actions that may involve hazardous, non-hazardous, biological/medical/infectious hazards, regulated and non-regulated materials or wastes. Such services may include, but are not limited to: 24/7 responses to spills/releases; characterization of waste streams; decontamination of areas, buildings, or properties; collection, containerization, transportation and proper disposal of equipment, materials, or wastes abandoned on MDTA properties; routine collection, containerization, transportation and proper disposal (or recycling) of materials or wastes generated by MDTA operations; container over packing; servicing of/cleaning oil-water separators (OWS) and floor drains; pumping out holding tanks (e.g., grey/wash water); performing abatement and/or decontamination activities for the management of asbestos, lead and/or microbial hazards; and proper disposal, documentation, and manifesting of activities carried out under this Contract. The Contractor shall be expected to provide data to MDTA, upon request, for different variables involving wastes collected from MDTA facilities
