Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State is issuing this solicitation for the purposes of clearing and removal of snow and ice from MARC Train Service Stations along the Penn Line. A. MDOT MTA Project Manager, or their designee, will notify the Contractor by telephone at least two hours before the services are needed. The Project Manager, or their designee, will instruct the Contractor as to which stations need the snow cleared or removed. The Contractor shall supply the equipment with operators, laborers, and hand tools necessary to perform the required work. B. The Contractor shall ensure that the equipment, operators, and/or labor crews are on site within two hours after notification by the MDOT MTA. C. The Contractor shall notify the appropriate MARC contact person upon arrival at the job site, and again upon completion of the work before departure. D. All charges/hours for services and/or standby time provided will be verified by the Administration through use of the Operation Center’s Telephone Log and random site visits by Administration personnel. E. The Administration reserves the right to have this equipment deployed to other properties, should the need arise, before being released. Should this occur, the Contractor will be compensated at the standby rate for travel time. F. Standby time shall be paid at an hourly rate equal to 50% of the working hourly rate. Standby time is defined as the time designated by the Administration, which is from the time a unit reports for service until that unit is placed into snow operations, in anticipation of a snow storm. G. All rates quoted are for actual operation and/or work time. No time shall be allowed for traveling to and from assigned snow removal sites. H. In the event of equipment failure, the Contract shall attempt to replace or repair the equipment promptly, but the Administration shall not be liable for the time the equipment is out of service. Should a replacement be required, the hourly rate will not start until the equipment arrives at the required location. I. The MDOT MTA will provide bulk salt for use on parking lots; the Contractor will be directed to pick up salt from the State Highway Administration (SHA) salt dome. Salt tickets documenting loads of salt received from SHA must be submitted with invoicing. J. Ice Melt Product shall be picked up from MARC at 1600 Ludlow Street. This product shall be used on walkways, platforms, and near the rail.
