A. Ensure a Smooth Transition to Union Representation: Provide expert legal and consulting support as OPD prepares for elections that will determine the exclusive representative for the new bargaining unit of supervisory staff. B. Develop and Implement Collective Bargaining Practices: Guide and advise OPD on collective bargaining best practices, including initial contract development and future negotiations. C. Support Equitable and Legally Compliant Labor Relations: Represent OPD in grievance hearings, advise on employment law matters, and support the agency’s strategic goals of fair, efficient, and legally sound employee relations. D. Protect Operational Integrity and Employee Rights: Balance OPD’s constitutional and operational mandates with its obligation to foster fair workplace practices and safeguard the rights of both unionized and nonunion employees. E. Maintain Agency-wide Awareness: Assist with communication strategies to educate management on collective bargaining processes and their rights and responsibilities.
