Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Montgomery County Department of Parks (Parks) of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC or Commission) is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide design/build services for a Storage Building at Laytonia Recreational Park, located at 7300 Airpark Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20879. The proposed site for the new structure is at the northern corner of the grassy field located at the southwestern leg of the park. The field is currently used for overflow parking during large events or tournaments. The conversion of the field into a paved parking lot has been studied and may become a future project pending available funding. The new one-story building will be approximately 2,200 SF. The intent is to provide as much storage as possible while working within a 5,000 SF LOD and maximum of 100 cubic yards of excavation. The massing, materials and color selections for the building shall be compatible with the architecture of the existing structures within the park, which prominently feature masonry walls in either stone or CMU.
