Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1 Lawn Care 2.1.1 Mowing and Trimming of approximately twelve (12) acres in Owings Mills, MD. (1) All turf will be cut at a height of 2 ½ inches every 7 to 10 days or as requested by facilities management. This equals approximately 60 cuts for the length of the contract. The turf must also be cut around the facility’s transmitter guide anchors as well as provide a cleared path to each anchor. All trash and small debris must be picked up prior to each grass cutting. The Contractor shall mow and keep open the earth roadway on the south and east sides of the facility “Scenic Building” and mow and maintain the grass/growth area on the entire north side of that building. All grass debris will be blown from the entrance to the facility, all walkways, curbs, etc. The Contractor cannot use mowers to blow off debris from the abovestated areas. (2) String trim around all poles, signs, buildings, and other obstructions with each cutting. All curbs and walks must have edging. (3) During each Spring and Fall period of the contract term, two (2) general landscape clean-ups will occur. The service to be provided during the general landscape clean-ups include the following: a. Removal of landscape debris including broken branches, that have accumulated over the Winter and Summer months. b. Pruning to remove deadwood from plant material up to a height that can be reached with a pole trimmer/pruner. c. Edging of all beds and tree wells at the right angle to a depth of 1”-2”. All tree rings shall be concentric and all bed lines maintained as smooth and continuous lines. d. Application of a pre-emergent weed control agent to all mulched areas, ground cover and shrub beds. The Contractor shall also hand remove all weeds/grasses over 2” in height. 2.1.2 Clean-up of any snow removal residue in parking lot areas including repair to grass due to damage from a snow plow. 2.1.3 Leaf Removal; minimum of three times per season at the direction of MPT’s facilities management. 2.1.4. Mulch all beds and tree wells with shredded hardwood mulch in Spring and Fall. The mulch must be kept away from the base of tree trunks and from the crown of the shrubs. Up to 2” of new mulch will be added. The goal will be to maintain no more than 3” of the organic mulch.
