Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Maryland College Park (UMD) is requesting proposals for an ID Card and Locking System Upgrade to enhance our campus security infrastructure. This initiative aims to: 1. Improve the experience of members of the campus community through the modernization of our ID Card System, addressing card production system requirements, exploring architectural options, and defining card reader specifications to enhance access control and security across campus. 2. Improve security by implementing non-proprietary and open technology in our ID Card System, supporting mobile credentials, ensuring high-quality card production, and enhancing security measures, including punch code authentication and automatic alerts for controlled substance access, to bolster campus safety. 3. Provide new features, functionality, and capabilities that UMD will benefit from.
