Specifications include, but are not limited to: 18.1 Currently, the County has point of entry treatment for groundwater supply at twelve facility locations throughout the county. See Attachment #1, “Treatment System Locations.” Treatment systems generally consist of the following components: well pump, chemical feeder, pH controller, chlorinator, UV light, iron filters, water softeners, nitrate scrubbers and pressure tanks. 18.2 The Contractor shall perform monthly routine service for each treatment system at each of the currently in service locations. Routine service shall consist of, at minimum: 18.2.1 Performing a monthly inspection of all dedicated equipment utilized in the groundwater treatment processes. 18.2.2 Performing maintenance and repairs to all equipment as necessary, or as specified by the manufacturer’s recommendation. 18.2.3 Verifying operation of each system component is within the system parameters. 18.2.4 Performing adjustments and calibration of system components. 18.2.5 Supplying the necessary treatment chemicals and verifying any onsite chemical storage is done properly. 18.2.6 Filling and maintaining chemical feed tanks. 18.3 The Contractor shall repair system components during routine monthly inspections. 18.3.1 Repair of system components requiring the ordering of equipment and/or parts above those routinely carried with the Water Treatment Technician, and requiring lead time for obtaining, shall be brought to the attention of the County Project Manager via email communication. 18.3.2 For repairs of treatment system equipment and components outside of routine wear or normal breakage, the Contractor shall provide a proposal via email communication for equipment replacement with installation labor costs included. The County Project Manager may elect to use the Contractor to supply equipment, materials and labor to complete needed repairs or may use the services of in-house staff. 18.4 The Contractor shall perform on-site water quality testing for hardness, pH, chlorine, and iron content. 18.5 The Contractor shall provide a monthly report for each location serviced detailing conditions, operations, water quality, repairs completed, recommended repairs and replacement of system components, etc. See Attachment #2, “Monthly Facility Inspection and Service Log”. 18.6 The Contractor shall provide “Emergency Response” for system failure for each system location within 24 hours of notification. 18.7 The Contractor shall respond for out of balance water conditions within 48 hours of notification. 18.8 The Contractor shall be responsible for the correct and safe storage of all treatment chemicals kept at any water treatment site. 18.9 The Contractor shall be responsible to provide correctly calibrated testing equipment. 18.10 The Contractor shall be responsible for winterization of equipment where applicable. 18.11 The Contractor’s personnel shall be escorted by County personnel while on site performing inspection, maintenance and repair services associated with this service.
