The project includes the interior fit-out of a storage/ mechanical space on the lower level of the existing Arundel HS building. The newly created space will be used as a toilet room and changing room with multiple single-user compartments, for non-gender specific students. A single, accessible, single-user toilet compartment will be provided which will also include a changing area, with new framed walls, doors, and sinks in the main shared space. New plumbing fixtures will be tied to existing sanitary and water supply. The new changing compartments will be provided within the overall new room with new framed walls and doors. Lockers, benches and mirrors are provided as part of the project as indicated on the drawings. The new room will include new HVAC and exhaust, with a combination of new equipment and connection to existing adjacent utilities, equipment and ductwork. Demolition of existing masonry wall assemblies at the corridor is required to provide the new doorway into the two new space. Openings in these walls will require supplemental structural support with new structural elements. All new spaces and affected areas surrounding the construction will be provided with new finishes.
