A. Tasks 1. The Contractor shall remove snow from 5 parking lots, 2 bus loops, and the roadway behind the Support Services Building including the Cafeteria loading dock area, as well as the roadway in front of the Kent McCanner Elementary School. Snow should not be piled within 50 feet of campus entrances. All roadways and parking lots on school grounds must be free of snow and ice. 2. The Contractor shall begin clearing the areas listed of snow within a 3 hour period following notification from MSD Maintenance Supervisor or Chief via phone or text, unless a different start time is mutually agreed upon by MSD Maintenance Supervisor or Chief and the company during the phone call. The contractor should provide a phone number that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 3. Removal may be required after normal working hours or on weekends and holidays as necessary. 4. If requested by the Maintenance Supervisor or Chief during the scheduling phone call, the Contractor will perform shoveling of sidewalks and steps, by hand or using sidewalk appropriate equipment. B. Method of Work 1. The contractor shall complete the project expeditiously and within the time limits of the contract. 2. All work shall be performed in the most professional manner by skilled laborers in their respective trades. 3. Throughout the entire project, the Contractor shall maintain a neat, orderly and safe work environment. 4. All work shall be performed to minimize disruption of facility operations. 5. The Contractor shall adhere to OSHA-MOSHA regulations throughout the project to ensure the safety of its employees, MSD faculty and students, and the general public. 6. All work shall be coordinated with the Maintenance Supervisor and/or the Procurement Officer. 7. There is no smoking on school grounds. 8. The Contractor shall repair any and all damages during the course of this project to the reasonable satisfaction of Maryland School for the Deaf. 9. Appropriate, non-offensive clothing (preferably a company shirt or jacket with logo) is to be worn by any and all contractors, subcontractors, and their representatives. 10. All contractors must sign in/out in the Maintenance Building and wear ID badges. Badges will be provided by the Maintenance Dept.
