Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The Contractor shall remove structural framing members and lower them to the ground by utilizing a method suitable to avoid free fall and to prevent ground impact or dust generation. Where work is adjacent to the street, the Contractor shall conduct the work in a manner that will avoid the accumulation of debris from its operations on the traffic areas of the adjacent streets or roadways. Contractor shall continuously remove such accumulations and, where necessary, broom or wet down traffic areas to prevent dust. B. All demolition debris shall become the property of the Contractor. It shall be the Contractor’s responsibility to remove and dispose of from the site all materials in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines, ordinances, and codes. C. The Contractor is responsible for collecting and transporting debris. All truck hauling must comply with State Department of Transportation regulations. After being loaded in the work area, truck loads shall be trimmed so that no debris extends horizontally beyond the bed in any direction. D. The Contractor shall completely remove below-grade construction, including foundation walls, footings, and walkways. Below-grade areas and voids resulting from demolition of the structure shall be graded to grade level. The Contractor shall ensure positive drainage away from the foundation area such that water does not pond in the newly filled locations. 1. Satisfactory/suitable soils are defined as those complying with ASTM D 2487 soil classification groups ML, SM, SC, GC, GP GW, or GM. 2. Soils shall have a liquid limit less than 40 and a plasticity index less than 20. 3. Soils shall have a minimum CBR value of 3.0 and swell shall be less than 1 percent in accordance with ASTM D 1883 when compacted to 98% compaction per ASTM D 1557. 4. Fill materials shall be backfilled in 8" maximum lifts and compacted to 95 percent maximum dry density. Density test method: ASTM D 1557. The contractor shall provide testing as necessary to prove that specifications are met. 5. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing 4" of topsoil and providing permanent seeding for the establishment of a lawn utilizing a mixture of fescue and winter rye grass seed. The Contractor shall be responsible for the growing in of the lawn area until there is 95% coverage of all disturbed areas.
