The Work consists of, in general: - Coordination with the MDTA, SHA, United States Coast Guard (USCG), CSX Transportation (CSXT), the City of Baltimore, Baltimore and Anne Arundel Counties, and other stakeholders that may be impacted by the work; - Installation and removal of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) for long-term closures of either the Inner or Outer Loops of the Curtis Creek Drawbridges including crossovers and necessary detours for the establishment of the crossovers as shown in the MOT plans; - Installation and removal of temporary traffic measures on the Curtis Creek Bridge including for two-way oncoming traffic; - Survey and concrete drilling work to establish existing top of deck elevations and thicknesses and edges of steel girders in areas designated for deck replacement; - Staged removal and replacement of portions of the decks and parapets including installation of staging and platforms and new support member for the catwalk platforms necessary to perform the work, and associated electrical work; - Removal and replacement of the expansion joint at Pier 22 on the Inner Loop including removal and reconstruction of portions of existing deck and parapets and the installation of new drainage trough; - Staged abrasive blast cleaning and coatings of portions of the structural steel and preserved reinforcing steel including containment measures; - Performing steel repairs and strengthening measures to portions of the superstructure; - Performing repairs to the existing catwalk along North Approach of the Inner Loop including repairs to existing railing and installation of new railing at the warning gate platforms; - Performing repairs to the Outer Loop centering devices where the bascule leaves meet;
