Specifications include, but are not limited to: Towson University is an academic environment. Contractor will manage events in a professional and proactive way using effective reasoning and conflict resolution, while avoiding, not encouraging, or escalating problems. The Contractor will provide staff to enhance the patrons’ experience in a safe and pleasant environment. Contractor will work with patrons to gain compliance with University procedures. When the Contractor is unable to gain patrons’ compliance, Contractor’s staff will communicate with the University police or the University event manager to have uncooperative patrons removed from the event and/or campus. Contractor shall provide highly specialized full-service crowd management, including tailgating and security services, for events and programs held at the University Union, West Village Commons, SECU Arena, the Towson Center Arena, Unitas Stadium and adjacent areas, the sports complex, and other outdoor venues on the University campus. Services required may include bag searches, pat-downs, metal detection services, and operation of equipment for event ingress. Events may include University-sponsored and external-type activities held at the University, such as dances and parties, athletic competitions, concerts, career fairs, charity fundraisers, commencement ceremonies, and other events as designated the University. On average, events at the University last approximately five (5) hours, and a given activity may require one (1) to ninety (95) Contractor staff. Attachment B details the event dates and coverage used during Fiscal Year 2018.
