Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Maryland State Highway Administration is seeking a contractor to construct three (3) offices for its Human Resources department. The offices are to be built on the north end of the 6th floor on the east side of the building. The contractor will disassemble three (3) "pods" / workstations and remove the pod / workstation parts to a designated area within the 707/211 Headquarter complex. Additionally, six (6) file cabinets are to be moved to a designated area. Electrical whips are located at the outside wall corners of the pod / workstation area on the east wall. Another electrical whip is located at the south-west corner of the pod area towards the center of the building. These whips shall be disconnected and junction boxes installed and connected to the power supply. Details to follow. A wall is to be erected running east-west from the outside wall approximately 12 feet 6 inches (12’-6”) to meet a north-south wall erected from the north-west corner of an existing office to the existing wall north of and parallel to the newly erected east-west wall. See Attachment "B", Construction drawing. The east-west wall will meet the outside wall 10 feet 3 inches (10’-3”) from the longer part of the north wall to the existing office. Two (2) doors will be placed in the new north-south wall on either side of the east-west wall. Both doors will swing inwards towards the east-west wall. The southern-most office will measure approximately 12 feet 6 inches by 10 feet three inches (12’-6” X 10’-3”). The northern-most office will measure approximately 12 feet 6 inches by 7 feet 4 inches (12’-6” X 7’-4”). A third office will be created by the erection of an east-west wall running ten feet zero inches (10’0”) from the northeast corner of an existing office. An intersecting wall is to be erected 10 feet 4 inches (10’-4”) long running north-south from the new east-west wall and perpendicular to that wall to meet the existing east-west wall of the file room. See Attachment "B", Construction drawing. A door will be located at the north end of the new north-south wall swinging inward to the new office towards the new east-west wall. All new walls will be constructed using aluminum studs and tracks with double framing at exterior corners and doors. The walls will run floor to drop ceiling and be sheathed with 3/8th inch drywall. The drywall will be taped at joints, mudded, sanded smooth and, painted with a white primer coat and a finish coat of off-white with an egg shell finish. All paint color samples shall be provided to SHA – Maintenance for approval.
