Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project, located in Carroll County, is for extending left turn lanes and adding deceleration/right turn lanes at the intersection of MD 140 (Taneytown Pike) at Mayberry Road. The project begins 929’ west of the MD 140 and Mayberry Road intersection and extends in an easterly direction toward MD 31 for a total distance 0.358 miles. The work will consist of the following: (a) Resurfacing the existing roadway; (b) Widening MD 140 eastbound and westbound to extend left turn lanes; (c) Widening MD 140 eastbound and westbound to add deceleration/right turn lanes; (d) Shoulder construction along the auxiliary lanes for continuous bike passage; (e) Installation of proposed signal with partial intersection lighting; (f) Installation of underground hardwired interconnect for Hazard Identification Beacon (HIB); (g) Installation of temporary and permanent pavement markings and signs; (h) Installation of recessed snowplowable raised pavement markers; (i) Construction of bioswales and a stormwater management pond; (j) Installation of pipe, end sections, endwalls, riprap and inlets; (k) Installation of plantings for Reforestation.
