Furnish all materials, labor, equipment, power, tools, maintenance, etc. to implement a temporary by-pass pumping system for the purpose of diverting or dewatering the existing flow around the work area as requested. The Contractor shall be responsible for the design, setup, maintenance, and removal of all bypass systems and dewatering services. This includes providing sufficient manpower to operate and monitor the pumps to ensure continuous and effective operation. 1. Equipment By-Pass Pumping Equipment shall include all standard equipment to complete a successful by-pass pumping job. No additional compensation will be provided for Standard Equipment. a. All pumps shall be fully automatic self-priming units that do not require the use of footvalves or vacuum pumps in the priming system. The pumps may be electric, gas, or diesel powered. All pumps must be constructed to allow dry running for longer periods of time to accommodate cyclical nature of effluent flows. b. The pumps must be sound attenuated primary system pumps and must be equipped with float controls. Appurtenances for the system must be included. c. The Contractor shall provide the necessary stop/start controls for each pump.
