Tour Must Include: 1.3.1. Round-trip, non-stop air transportation from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) - FCO on a major, regularly scheduled airline departing March 13, 206 and returning March 22, 2026 with as few stops as possible. The Ancient Studies Department will arrange for a coach to take the group to and from UMBC and IAD. 1.3.1.1. If a connecting flight is necessary (i.e. booking nonstop IAD-FCO is not possible), round-trip, trans-Atlantic transportation must be on a regularly scheduled airline. A maximum of one change of plane is acceptable, and there must be a minimum of two hours between flights. 1.3.1.2. Flights to/from PHI, DCA and BWI to FCO on a regularly scheduled airline will be considered in the event they are faster and/or less expensive. 1.3.2. Air travel in Italy: 1.3.2.1. FCO (or CIA) to PMO on March 15. 1.3.2.2. CTA to FCO on March 22. 1.3.3. Private Motor Coach Service from: 1.3.3.1. Saturday, March 14: from FCO to Rome hotel; from Rome hotel to Colosseum and back (depending on time of arrival in Rome). 1.3.3.2. Sunday, March 15: from Rome hotel to FCO (or CIA) for flight to PMO; from PMO to hotel in Palermo; if distances warrant it, from hotel in Palermo to Piazza Pretoria and back. The group can walk to the Archaeological Museum Antonia Salinas, Norman Palace/Palatine Chapel, and Palermo Cathedral, but may need a coach back to the hotel, depending on its location. 1.3.3.3. Monday, March 16: from hotel in Palermo to Monreale Cathedral; from Monreale Cathedral to Segesta Archaeological Park; from Segesta Archaeological Park to Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, Trapani; from Trapani to Erice; from Erice to hotel in Marsala. 1.3.3.4. Tuesday, March 17: coach from hotel in Marsala to Stagnone di Marsala for boat to Mozia and from Stagnone di Marsala to Piazza della Repubblica for lunch; from Regional Museum of Lilybaeum and Marsala Archaeological to hotel in Marsala (if needed). 1.3.3.5. Wednesday, March 18: coach from hotel in Marsala to Selinunte Archaeological Park; coach from Selinunte Archaeological Park to Marinella di Selinunte for lunch; coach from Marinella di Selinunte to hotel in Scaccia.
