Specifications include, but are not limited to: One (1) Aluminum Hull Commercial Use Boat with push knees, outboard motors and trailer. This vessel will be utilized by the Authority for Bridge Inspections at the Governor Harry W. Nice Memorial Bridge. 5.1 Vessel: A. One (1) aluminum hull commercial style boat with a minimum length of 24’, transom height of 25” and a minimum beam of 95”. B. The bow of the boat shall be square nosed design with push knees. C. The stern of the boat shall have an outboard protection bar. D. The construction of the boat shall be a minimum of .125 gauge aluminum. E. The boat shall have a heavy duty rub rail. F. All ribs shall be reinforced with doublers and a double channeled transom. G. Bottom of boat shall have ice runners on all kilgores. H. Boat shall be rated for 13 persons/1800lbs and a total weight capacity of 2700lbs. minimum. I. Boat shall have a fiberglass center console and windshield with switches that include bilge pump, horn, navigation lights, and three (3) switches for accessories. Center console shall have a forward box. J. Boat shall have an aluminum T-Top with dark colored canvas covering and remote spotlight installed. K. Boat shall have a floor mounted leaning post with backrest. Canvas color shall be gray. L. Boat shall be provided with four (4) cleats minimum for mooring. 5.2 Controls and Gauges A. The gauges shall be multifunction and include speedometer, tachometer, and fuel gauge. B. An hour gauge shall be provided either as part of the multifunction gauge or a separate gauge. C. Outboard manufacturer single binnacle control shall be mounted on center console. D. Engine ignition switch shall be sealed from corrosion and have a single engine stop lanyard switch. E. Three (3) engine keys shall be provided with engine stop lanyards. 5.3 Trailer A. Trailer shall be of aluminum construction. B. Trailer shall have a spare tire mounted on trailer. C. Trailer should be of design for the vessel provided in this spec. Roller or bunker style will be accepted. D. Trailer shall meet all federal lighting standards for operation on roadways and have a lighted license bracket. E. Trailer shall have safety chains installed and winch (prefer nylon winch strap). F. Trailer shall be a tandem wheel with one axle disc brake design. 5.4 Accessories A. Console mounted compass. B. Console mounted depth finder. C. A UHF Class D marine radio shall be provided and mounted on console with T-Top mounted antenna. D. Anchor with chain sufficient to hold boat at maximum weight capacity. E. Ropes for securing boat to pier: one (1) for the bow and two (2) for the stern. F. Coast Guard Safety Kit. G. A fully automatic computerized bilge pump with minimum 500gph. A bilge pump with float will not be accepted. 5.5 Fuel Tank and Battery A. Fuel tank shall have a capacity of no less then twelve (12) U.S. gallons. B. Fuel tank must be secured. C. Two (2) 12 volt batteries with battery switch of 1/2/1&2/OFF shall be provided with secure mounting. 5.6 Engine A. Marine Outboard Engine: i. Engine Type: 4-Stroke In-line 4 Cylinder ii. Displacement: 2354cc minimum iii. Fuel: Minimum 87 Octane Unleaded Gasoline iv. Horsepower rating @ Prop: 150hp minimum v. Full Throttle RPM Range: 5000-5800 minimum vi. Fuel Induction System: Electronic Fuel Injection vii. Ignition System: Microcomputer Controlled viii. Alternator: 35 amp minimum for 12 volt system ix. Trim Method: Power Trim and Tilt x. Drive Protection: Rubber Hub xi. Aluminum: appropriate for a 24’ vessel in this spec xii. Exhaust: Prop Hub Exhaust 5.7 Paint and Color A. The vessel shall be gray in color for interior and exterior. B. All paints and primers shall be lead free. C. Outboard engine paint will be standard manufacturer color.
