Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Service Availability 1) The Contractor shall be available for telephone consultations with Animal Shelter Management and in person for emergencies such as natural disaster and large sale cruelty investigations. 2) As this is a new facility, the number of hours required are not known at this time. B. Medical Examinations 1) Perform medical examinations on all types of animals as needed. It is estimated this shall require weekly rounds for approximately two (2) hours per week. 2) Determine when animals have been abused and make recommendations to Shelter management. a. Prepare necropsy and medical reports, including abuse reports, as necessary. b. Be available when subpoenaed and testify for Calvert County Government. C. Sterilization Services 1) Animals eight (8) weeks of age or older. 2) Service to be performed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Alternate day of work to be provided if Tuesday or Thursday falls on a Calvert County Government holiday. 3) Evaluate animals to determine suitability for the operation. 4) Perform operation in a timely manner. 5) Communicate if unable to perform operation.
